Membership is a solemn commitment with the maker of the commitment becoming synonymous with the commitment itself. Membership is a lifelong dedication to the ideals, mission, and purpose of the Fraternity. Aspirants considered for membership must possess the personal, social and academic qualifications acceptable to both their respective college and the Fraternity.
Maturity means acceptance of reality, the ability to sacrifice and set goals, and the consideration of others. Maturity is more than simply reaching a certain age. Maturity is a demonstration of incisive judgment, emotional balance, acceptable social skills, intellectual competence and moral rectitude. Maturity is expected for aspirants, new members and established members alike.
Dedication means putting those characteristics of maturity into membership thus fostering a lifelong program of action to further the interests, goals and purposes of the Fraternity. We expect our members to be solely dedicated to these ideals for the advancement of the Theta Tau chapter.
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is not interested in the simple accumulation of members, but rather, the quality and integrity of its membership. Membership quality manifests itself through an intangible element of brotherhood we call "That Good Ol' Kappa Spirit". Members do not let personal goals supersede those of the Fraternity.
A person who feels he would do the Fraternity a favor by joining is not worthy of membership. Additionally, one who holds himself superior to the brotherhood of the Fraternity is not worthy of membership.
Acceptable qualities of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. members include:
The disposition to live in close companionship with men of similar values.

The desire to strive for, and ultimately achieve, excellence in everything you do.
The commitment to train for leadership.
